Rangers Alarm Monitoring
False Alarms
The Rangers respond to a tremendous number of false alarms each year. While we understand this occurs, how you handle a false alarm makes a world of difference.
If you realize you’ve inadvertently set off your alarm, IMMEDIATELY call Rangers Dispatch (513) 561-7000 and let them know.
You will be asked for your unique password or disregard code that tells us everything is okay on your end. Your timely call may prevent an officer being pulled away from an ongoing emergency.
About
The Indian Hill Rangers Police Department provides 24 hour monitoring for alarm systems connected to the Police Department dispatch console. This monitoring service is provided to approximately one-half of the households in the Village.
Connection
Residents who want their alarms sent directly to the Rangers must use a Koorsen radio as Koorsen owns the license for the wireless frequency that the radios utilize.
The Koorsen radio is the only piece of equipment needed for the Rangers to receive alarms from your alarm system. The remaining components of an alarm system such as sensors, sirens, and keypads can be installed by any alarm company of your choosing, you do not have to utilize Koorsen for that portion.
Village Fees
An annual alarm monitoring fee of $132.00 ($11.00 per month), shall be billed annually for any residence or other property protected by an alarm system which is directly monitored by the Indian Hill Rangers Police Department.
This alarm fee shall be billed once annually, and will be due payable on July 1 of each calendar year. Partial year service may be prorated at a rate of $11.00 for each month the service was connected to the dispatch center. This fee is a separate fee from the one that may be charged by your alarm company and is not used for any physical alarm infrastructure used by the Rangers.
Koorsen Fees
Koorsen has a contract with the Village for subscriber fees which are outlined in the table below. This subscriber fee is per-radio (some residences have multiple radios) and covers the cost of the improvement, maintenance, and management of the physical radio infrastructure and the receiving system located at the Ranger station.
Year | Monthly Fee | Annual Fee |
---|---|---|
2025 | $11.82 | $141.90 |
