Varner Road Pier Wall Extension

A section of the roadway pavement on Varner Rd., approximately 1,000 LF east of Walton Creek Rd. is experiencing settlement and stress cracking, early signs of soil subgrade movement.  The Village has a budget of $336,600 to perform geotechnical testing in the area, engineering design, and construction of a pier wall extension to stabilize the hillside supporting the roadway.  The project design has been completed.  Overhead utility relocation and existing utility pole removals by service providers will need to occur prior to the pier wall construction in order to avoid construction conflicts.
