Natural Gas Aggregation

Renewal for September 2024

The Village’s gas aggregation broker held a competitive bid process where IGS Energy Services presented the most competitive rate that would provide Indian Hill residents an opportunity to capitalize on natural gas savings.

The new gas aggregation fossil fuel rate is $0.506/ccf. This rate will begin with October meter readings and be seen on November 2024 invoices.  The rate will continue for a one-year term through October 2025.  The new rate compares to Duke’s Price-to-Compare rate of $0.65 as of September 1, 2024.

Residents currently enrolled in the Village’s gas aggregation program should have received an opt-out letter from IGS Energy. The opt-out letter was sent to all eligible residents, including anyone who may have moved into the Village or any others utilizing Duke Energy services. To take advantage of the $0.506/ccf secured by the Village, NO ACTION IS REQUIRED BY YOU WITH THE OPT-OUT LETTER.

You also will receive a letter from IGS confirming your enrollment.  No action is required for this letter if you wish to remain in the Village’s program.

Researching Aggregation Rates

Please know that residents always have the ability to opt-out of the Village’s aggregation program and research their own program by visiting the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio’s “Energy Choice Ohio” at www.energychoice.ohio.gov.

If you wish to choose a different plan than the one offered by the Village, the Village cautions that you become familiar with another vendor’s program thoroughly before making the switch.  Many vendors may provide lower introductory rates; however, once the introductory period expires, rates may increase significantly higher than the Village’s longer-term aggregation rate.  In addition, there may be fees and penalties with canceling prior to a contract end date.  There are no fees or penalties associated with the Village’s program.

If you did not receive an opt out letter or have questions, please do not hesitate to contact Dina Minneci, City Manager, at 513-561-6500 or [email protected].
