The Charter for the City of the Village of Indian Hill (the “Village”) was adopted in 1941 and has been amended six times with the most recent amendments being approved in 2020. The Charter can be amended only upon approval of the voters of Indian Hill.

The Charter serves as our community’s foundation of governance. It sets the framework for the laws that are enacted by Council into the City Code. In early 2024, City Council appointed a group of residents to the Charter Review Committee to review all aspects of the Charter and make recommendations to Council. The Committee consulted with the City Solicitor and Administration throughout the review process. The Committee has met on several occasions and discussed numerous proposed changes to the Charter.
