COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – WATER SYSTEM UPDATE
Over the last several months, the Village of Indian Hill has been engaged in a robust discussion with the community regarding key decisions that will impact our future, primarily a new water tower and required updates to our water works distribution system based on federal regulations, specifically PFAS remediation.
I first want to say THANK YOU. We understand the importance of these decisions, which is why we wanted to provide as many opportunities as possible to engage with the community. Your input and involvement have been an important part of this process.
Throughout the entirety of the community engagement process, Village Council has been receiving every bit of information, input, insight, ideas, and concerns that have been collected and received. This includes video and feedback from town hall meetings, dozens of survey results, hundreds of emails from residents, input and analysis from the Village Advisory Committee (presented at the June 16, 2025 Council meeting), and much more. Everything we have observed or collected from the community has been provided to Council. This has been done to give them as much perspective and information as possible to make informed decisions for our community.
As we have continually stated, no final decisions have been made. Council plans on reviewing all the input over the summer, along with reviewing additional engineering studies that have been commissioned.
Updates will be provided to the community on these additional studies as they are completed. Council will continue to welcome feedback, including during regularly scheduled Council meetings. Additional public meetings may be scheduled upon the request of Council as more information is made available, and we will ensure those opportunities are communicated. Council is aiming to define a direction by the end of November of this year.
To the extent that the Village can prudently expedite any of these matters, it will attempt to do so.
As always, please reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or ideas. We understand that these are significant decisions that will impact the entire community for many years to come, and we take this process very seriously. I hope everyone has a safe and fun summer!
Sincerely,
Dina C. Minneci
